MINUTES – SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

Mayor Mary Masick called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL
C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson conducted the roll call. A quorum of the Commission was present.

The pledge of allegiance was led by Mayor Masick.
RECOGNITION OF GUESTS
No guests were in attendance.
BUSINESS/ACTION ITEMS
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The July 23, 2024, minutes were presented for approval. Commissioner Norton made a motion for
approval of the minutes and his motion was seconded by Commissioner Leahy. Motion carried
unanimously.
The August 1, 2024, Special Called meeting minutes were presented for approval. Commissioner Leahy
made a motion for approval of the minutes and her motion was seconded by Commissioner Norton.
Motion carried unanimously.
C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson—Management Report
C. C. A. O. Tyler Johnson reported that the city’s contract with Flock Safety was coming up for renewal at
the end of October. The city must give Flock a 30-day notice if they choose to terminate the agreement.
C.A.O. Johnson said that he would review the agreement with the Commission at their next meeting when
the full Commission was in attendance. After some discussion regarding the cost effectiveness of the
cameras, the Commission requested more information before their next meeting. C.A.O. Johnson said he
would also invite Lyndon Police Chief Rob Schroeder to speak to the Commission about his department’s
experience using the cameras in Hurstbourne.
C.A.O. Johnson relayed the approximate demolition and construction schedule for the all-abilities
playground being planned for a local school. C.A.O. Johnson also gave an update on the Nottingham
culvert replacement project. The project is anticipated to be complete in the next 60 days, weather
permitting. He asked the Commissioners to let residents know they can call City Hall any time with any
questions or concerns they may have regarding the project.
COMMISSION REPORTS
MAYOR’S REPORT
Mayor Masick reported she was invited to attend an event at the site of the new playground on Friday,
August 16 to celebrate Kosair’s donation to the fundraising efforts.
PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT – Commissioner Norton
Commissioner Norton reported that he had seen more police patrols and cars parked near stop signs for
enforcement and commended the Lyndon Police Department for their efforts over the past several
months.
GENERAL GOVERNMENT REPORT – Commissioner Jackson
Commissioner Jackson was absent; no report given.
PUBLIC WORKS – Commissioner Leavell
Commissioner Leavell was absent; no report given.
CODE ENFORCEMENT/SANITATION—Commissioner Leahy
Commissioner Leahy had no report.
ATTORNEY’S REPORT – Attorney John Singler
City Attorney John Singler discussed the plans for a new Lyndon Police Station and how the new space
would allow them to better serve their contract cities such as Hurstbourne.
CITY ENGINEER’S REPORT—Chris Crumpton
City Engineer Crumpton was absent; therefore, there was no report.
TREASURER’S REPORT – Treasurer Mike Rhodes
City Treasurer Mike Rhodes was absent; no report given.
OTHER NON-BUSINESS/ACTION ITEMS

At 5:00 p.m., Commissioner Norton made the motion to adjourn. His motion was seconded by
Commissioner Leahy. Motion carried unanimously.
